You can always imagine yourself at some sort of crossroads because you always have a choice. And trust me when I say, I analyze my choices A LOT. With the move to Wisconsin eminently approaching, I’ve realized that my future could land in a multitude of alternate realities—and what I’ve found I want to do most is just remember now. And, the feelings of love, appreciation, and encouragement my family&friends have given me. Without the support, I doubt I could do this. So, yes my point is my departure is all your fault!

Even if you aren’t going through drastic change in your life, you might find that writing to your future self can lead to an anachronistic revelation or encouragement you forgot you needed.
